Real Wedding

Annie and Dev came to me through Annie’s mom, Charlie. Charlie was desperate for help with planning her daughter’s wedding and had just booked the beautiful Boerner Botanical Gardens for the couple’s August wedding.

Charlie was feeling a lot of stress because this wedding was not only a joining of two families, but two cultures. Dev’s family is Indian and Hindu, while Annie’s family is American and Christian. The couple really wanted to highlight the two cultures and pay homage to where they both came from, along with who they are as a couple.

We got to work designing the day and planning every intricate detail, of which there were many. The result was a gorgeous day that was delightfully them. The day started with getting ready separately, then a celebratory Barat for the groom. After that, the traditional Hindu ceremony was held in the Rose Garden. The couple and families wore traditional Indian attire, which was hot in the intense heat! After some photos and a wardrobe change into the traditional Western wedding attire, the civil ceremony was performed.

From there the couple enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres then an amazing meal by Zilli Hospitality Group featuring both American and Indian dishes at their Boerner Botanical Gardens Wedding. The dance floor was one of the most full dance floors we have seen in a long time. They even showcased a choreographed Bollywood dance done by both of their families! Congratulations, Annie and Dev!
